I bought mine Back In The Day, for one specific reason: the "Assault" emulator in Namco Museum volume 4 supports this controller! Just plug it in, launch the game, and you're good to go. The joysticks have too large a throw and not enough auto-centering to be considered perfect, but it's still very very good.

Cabinets Done! Well almost. I still have to finish up the outside. But its all constructed. I used your design as a starting point and modified it to work with the equipment I had. Ended up being 24"x24"x30". So its a big bartop but I love it. I'm doing some write-ups of it @ mamegamers.com. You should check it out sometime.

I appreciate your help. I actually ordered my buttons, joysticks, and trackball from xgaming.com, makers of the Tankstick. I'm using the i-PAC2 to control everything. Looked easier to setup and has 4 more inputs that the BYO from xgaming.com. So If I wanted to add 4 more buttons or say a true 4-way joystick for games that use them. I've been studying a lot of different bartop designs. But this idea is a pretty old now. So most of them that you find don't use LCD, especially a 16:9 AR one. I'm hoping to be able to take advantage of the designs you have listed as a template but still keep it a bartop size.

Bob, take a look at the X-Arcade Tankstick... if nothing else, their layout might help with your control panel design...

Saw these plans you posted and I was looking for some plans for a bartop Great help. I'm actually building the one you have shown but for a 20" monitor same layout on the controls but im going to add a trackball in the middle of the two sets. so it will be a lil wider then the original but these plans help out tremendously! Thanks I'll definitely send ya some pics when Im done.
